New York, NY, USA – On October 1, 2020 ISCEA announced that it has partnered with Reboot Everything to create the Reboot Supply Chain Challenge. The 2020-2021 Challenge will be focused on sustainability. ISCEA plans to make this challenge an annual challenge, just like the ISCEA Ptak Prize Case Competition.
Ms. Madison DeSilva, Director of Global Strategic Partnerships at ISCEA said, “We are delighted that the industry has the opportunity to reboot supply chain at a unique time with sustainability in mind.” She notes that there has been a need for shifting supply chain practices across the industry. The Reboot Supply Chain Challenge will foster these innovations in the industry through addressing real industry challenges thought of and solved by those who are directly impacted.
The Reboot Supply Chain Challenge will be open for Challenge suggestions starting October 1, 2020. After the Challenge is selected, all entries are welcome and encouraged for solution ideas. There is no cost to participate and all levels of both university students and industry professionals can participate in the Challenge. It is also possible to participate as an organization and submit ideas as a team.
In addition to the launch of Reboot Supply Chain Challenge, ISCEA has announced a new certificate program which will launch January 1, 2021. This certification, Certified Sustainable Supply Chain Professional (CSSCP), will guide industry professionals on how to transition and implement sustainability into both new and existing supply chain. The course will be available for online attendance in early 2021 and potentially in person depending on COVID-19 restrictions. The CSSCP certification will have two steps. Those seeking certification complete step 1 by taking the class and exam. Step 2 requires the participant to progress further and join the Reboot Supply Chain Challenge. Entry into the Challenge will be noted as a more advanced CSSCP certificate holder.
ISCEA is in support of UN SDG Ambition Goals which has sparked its focus on sustainability. In order to actively support these goals, ISCEA intends on granting 1,100,000 USD in ISCEA Educational Vouchers to winners of The Reboot Challenge. The grant will be awarded over 10 years, with one Challenge occurring each year. The winners of the Challenge will have the opportunity to present their Challenge Solutions at the annual SCTECH Conference and Expo. The winners will also be recognized at this conference for their innovation.
